Fashion Trends 2008 - 7 Fresh Spring Styles And How To Wear Them

Are you looking for ways to add color and style to your spring wardrobe? This season has lots of pretty things to mix and match with your wardrobe, from flowers to crisp clean styles. You love the beautiful flower colors, and the bold fun prints.

Here are 7 spring styles and how to wear them.

1. Abstract prints: Graphic patterns are amongst the hottest trends right now. With graphic prints, keep your accessories simple and classic. Find a bag in a neutral shade, and keep your jewelry simple.

2. Flowers are big this spring, from grown-up floral dresses, blouses and skirts, to accessories such as brooches and hair accessories. Don’t go overboard, especially for the office. Choose one new grown-up floral, and pair it with your neutral separates.

3. Stripes are everywhere this spring, from casual to dressy tops, to skirts and pants. With both vertical and horizontal strips to choose from, go for the stripes that suit your body type. Remember that vertical stripes draw the eye up and down, while horizontal stripes draw the eye sideways. So if you want to appear taller and slimmer, go for the vertical stripes.

4. Safari is hot: Safari styles are comfy and chic for work or for play. Basic khaki can be practical and smart for the office. For a new look, buy a khaki coat, and add a belt. Snazz up a safari dress with an ethnic belt, some metallic shoes or a simple tote bag. Slip a few bangles or cuffs on your wrist for the look of the moment.

5. Red, white and navy: These colors are always spring-like and fresh. You can pair red and white, blue and white, or all three colors. Accessorize navy and white with a pop of red in your shoes or handbag. Or go for a red blouse or jacket, but keep the rest of your outfit simple for work, in a navy pallet.

6. Crayon colors: Bright bags and shoes are popping up everywhere, in crayon colors of yellow, pink, green, blue and grape. Bright bags jump off the shelves in bold clutches or large totes. Avoid looking like a kid going to kindergarten by choosing your crayon colors carefully. An inspired green or yellow bag can still look business like if it has a structured shape. If you work in a conservative industry such as financial services, keep your crayon brights for casual days at the office, and stick to classy looks when meeting clients.

7. Black and white: The ever-classic black and white looks serious yet fresh. What’s more, everyone can wear this combo, from fair haired women to those with dramatic coloring. Jackets and skirts or pants are simple, easy ways to pair black and white for an instant look that takes you from boardroom to evening.

Buy a black cropped jacket to pop over a crisp white shirt. Add a feminine note with black and white spectator shoes, stilettos, or sandals. You can also add a splash of color to your black and white outfit, with a sleek clutch in lemon yellow, or bright green. Wow – you’ll look put-together and up to date, for office or weekend.

3 Secrets To Visible Abs They Won’t Tell You About!

Having trained thousands of individuals from all walks of life I would say that one of the most common goals among exercisers is to develop a “visible” 6-pack. Perhaps you fall into this category as well. I know I did at one point. Let’s see how you can accomplish this goal and discover 3 secrets that you need to know in order to do so.

SECRET #1

It’s first important to realize that we’re not dealing with a 6-pack but instead an 8-pack. Those 2 lower abdominal muscles that most people forget to consider help make up the 8-pack or rectus abdominis muscle.

The second thing to realize is that rectus abdominis muscle is innervated by only 1 nerve. This means that from a neuromuscular perspective there is no difference between the upper and lower abs.

Think back to all those people who have told you to do leg lifts to train you lower abs and crunches to train your upper abs. Although there intentions were honest, there is simply no differentiating this 8-pack muscle. Therefore, when you do sit-ups, or crunches, or leg lifts you’re training the exact same muscle - the 8-pack OR rectus abdominis - and the full length of this muscle.

However, like with any other muscle in the body, using a variety of exercises (crunches, leg lifts, plank, etc…) is helpful in order to stimulate individual muscle fibers within the full range of motion of the muscle and to maximize it’s performance and strength.

SECRET #2

When it comes to visibly seeing your 8-pack there is little use for abdominal exercises! That’s right. You can do 1,000 sit-ups a day if you like but your efforts will be in vain. The reason for this is simple.

In order for you to visibly see your abdominal muscles your body fat percentage needs to be around 10% or lower. And the best way to burn fat is by using full-body movements that utilize a large amount of muscle in order to burn as many calories as possible. The more muscle involved in a movement, the more calories that are burned.

Therefore, abdominal crunches are close to useless because they’re focused on such a small group of muscles that there is little metabolic effect. Performing a ton of ab work will get your abs strong but they won’t be visible if they’re hiding behind a layer of fat.

Full-body movements such as squat presses, lunge walks with arm raises, step-ups with biceps, and burpies are great movements that expend huge amount of calories.

Aside from full-body movements, the incorporation of high-intensity interval training is needed to rev up your metabolism and maximize your calorie burning potential.

However, when it comes to shedding body fat, the most important component is certainly your diet. It is beyond the scope of this article to go into full-out detail but simply by eating a higher percentage of living foods that alkalize your body your success will be that much closer.

SECRET #3

Let’s say that you’re working hard to strengthen your abs but you still have a bit of gut that is showing. That’s fine. Realize that it will take some time and hard work to get a chiseled waistline. But what if, in the meantime, you could reduce your waist size simply by using a couple of easy-to-do core strengthening exercises? That would be alright, wouldn’t it?

Ok, so here’s what you want to do. You want to spend time developing and strengthening your trunk stabilizers - namely your transversus abdominis (TVA) and your internal (IO) and external obliques (EO). In conjunction, these critical muscles help tighten your tummy while supporting your spine.

You can get a feel for their activation by putting on a tight pair of pants (drawing in your belly button) and slightly tensing your abs (as if you were about to get punched). This 2-step activation is known as “abdominal bracing”.

The easiest way to train the TVA, IO, and EO is simply to abdominal brace whenever you can. In fact, this is how I started out way back in the day. It sounds pretty ridiculous put back in junior high school I simply began “abdominal bracing” (not knowing what it was at the time) in order to get those washboard abs. The funniest part is that I was doing it to impress a girl. Pretty silly I know but it worked.

After much conscious effort, these muscles learned how to tighten and strengthen my core naturally. So, instead of thinking about of activating these muscles, they simply acquired a natural tonicity to provide me with a tight, slim, and strong core. The same can happen for you.

Should Skin Care Products Contain Fragrances?

Fragrances are wonderful aren’t they? After all everyone loves to smell nice, and be with someone who smells nice, and fragrances are big business. But should you find fragrances in your skin care and anti aging products?

Because they’re certainly there. Just have a look at, or a smell of, your current skin care products. So they have a fragrance? Do they smell good? Is there a fragrance listed on the label?

So what could possibly be a problem with finding fragrances in your anti aging skin care products?

Plenty.

Lets ask ourselves, what is a fragrance? Well of course it’s just a nice smell. But how is that nice smell achieved? In most cases by means of synthetically produced chemicals. Yes most fragrances are made in a lab.

There are in fact more than 4000 “fragrances”. Many of them are untested for safety for humans, and some of them are seriously suspected of being dangerous. And for some of them, no one knows.

Do you want to be putting chemicals on your skin when no one knows if they will be safe for use or not? Do you think skincare products like moisturizers, face creams, body lotions, restorative creams, masks, gels and so on should contain chemicals which are not known to be safe, and are considered by many to be unsafe?

Because that’s exactly what “fragrances” are. And some can cause allergies and skin reactions in susceptible people. And others? Who knows what they do.

And fragrances are so common in anti aging products and skin care products like moisturizers and face creams because they help sell the product, not because they make the product work any better. In fact many of the top brand name anti aging products do very little, or nothing.

Is it any better using a perfume rather than a skin care product with a fragrance in it? Well yes, and no. Because of course a perfume is just a fragrance too, many are the same. However when you use a perfume you dab on a tiny amount whereas when you use a face cream, for example, you rub it all over your face, and neck, and rub it in to make sure it’s gone. So it’s all been absorbed into your system in larger amounts.

Do the best skin care products use fragrances? No. Do the mainstream big brand name companies that make the skin care and anti aging products you probably use now make the best skin care products? No.

A tiny niche company that I’ll bet you’ve never heard of makes the best skin care products, and they don’t put fragrances in any of them, just for this reason.

Mens suit: Why you ought to have one!

Decades ago, men’s suit is common in every man’s wardrobe, until the recent years where suit is only used for business affairs and special occasions. However, stylish trendsetters has shifted the demand for men’s suits, such that there have been a noticeably increased interest and need for suits and tailored clothing, coupled with the demand of men’s wear fashion.

And yes, fashion. Men’s suits is still the well-cut, tailored clothes but it have redesigned to match the simplicity and style of the user.

But why own a suit?

The suit has been always admired due to its impeccable design and effect to whatever clothing it is paired, whether an ordinary shirt or a woven cloth with long sleeves, a full-length buttoned opening down the front and a collar, or the more informal ones like types of knitwear, from turtle neck to a simple slip over.

Whether you are businessman or a typical teenager, suit can make a difference on you. How is that?

Defines your personality

Suits projects the man’s confidence and power in business as well as stylish masculinity during formal situations. For the usual day to day life, suits or the manner the suit is worn have been reinvented to match the taste and personality of the user.

If you worry that someone have already bought a suit same like the one you are about to buy, there is no need to. It still reflects a different personality because of the difference in the men’s body frame, as well as the combination with other apparels.

Proper pairing of suits with the right shirt and pants is vital to bring out the individual fashion styling. With appropriate balancing the patterns and solid colors between your shirts, suits, and ties, you can reflect a clean and respectable personality from the impressive style you have projected.

As an investment

Men’s suit can be worn to any occasion. Though it has been traditionally used for formal meetings like a business affair or a dinner date, men’s suits have extended its product line to cater the needs of the young age bracket. Having a suit, worn over a simple knitted shirt has been used more often as informal wear and projects “dress casual” look.

Pairing with trousers of pants also have a more leeway compared to the old times since men’s suits they can be worn with jeans or casual pants. Having good knowledge on the basics in the makings of a suit will help you in making better choice of your purchase for both tailored and off-rack suits or if you have to buy a sports jacket.

Passion for style and season

Having a suit gives your statement of fashion. It does not mean that you only buy suit at the men’s wear store just to show off but it means that you don’t get out of fashion at any time of the year.

Now, we stated at anytime of the year. There is no problem with the winter but you are having a second thought of wearing it on summer? No need to get troubled with it. Suits have already evolved from the extravagant woolen material to a more defined textile specifications to fit the current season.

A considerable example is Classic Summer Suits, where it is made of a lighter material, usually of pure new wool and linen blend that can be washable.

Also most mens’ suit can be fully mix and match to have a nice fit to your pair of slacks or denim.

Here are only some of the reasons why you should buy men’s suit. When choosing just think of what you think fits best for you, after all, it is you who will be wearing it.

The Proper Wardrobe For Men

Let’s face it, women are just a lot better at this sort of thing. They seem to possess an innate ability to mix and match, accessorise and enhance; they know months in advance not only where they’re going to be and what they’re going to be doing but what they’ll be wearing. Their wardrobes are subdivided into ‘basics’, ‘essentials’, ‘formal’, ‘evening’ etc. A typical man’s wardrobe is divided into only two sections: things that still fit and things that don’t (but we can’t quite bring ourselves to throw anything out because, any day now, we’re going to join a gym).

It’s mind-boggling.

Well, let’s see if we can do a little something about it. Here’s the top 12 crucial components of ‘the proper wardrobe for men’.

The Proper Wardrobe for Men 1: The pristine white shirt.

By white, we mean WHITE. Gleaming. Keep it simple: no elaborate stitching, attention-grabbing button, Oxford collars etc. This can be worn in the evening or in the daytime and will go with just about anything: suits, jeans and suit jacket etc. Avoid wearing as a casual shirt on it’s own; always wear with a suit or blazer jacket. Once it starts to lose its supernova glow, get rid of it and get a new one.

The Proper Wardrobe for Men 2: A grey suit.

Like the shirt, keep it simple: three buttons, single-breasted. This can be worn with a tie for job interviews or other formal occasions. Lose the tie and it instantly translates into something informal but eye-catching and stylish.

The Proper Wardrobe for Men 3: A black suit.

You can buy this as a suit or separately. The suit can be worn for more formal occasions, but the jacket and pants can be mixed and matched with other garments, to create a variety of looks. When worn with jeans or khakis, the black suit jacket makes something fun and informal seem a little more considered and thoughtful.

The Proper Wardrobe for Men 4: Black shoes and a black belt.

Again, this covers the whole spectrum for stiff formality to loose and casual. Jeans, khakis, suits: there’ll be no problems co-ordinating. It’s worth investing in decent quality shoes, as we’re certain you’ll get a lot of wear out of them.

The Proper Wardrobe for Men 5: Two ties.

One in a solid colour, one patterned. For the solid tie, try something dark and neutral. For the patterned tie, avoid anything too ‘on-trend’, it’ll slip out of fashion before you know it; so, go for something quite classical (a simple diagonal stripe, say) but not too formal.

The Proper Wardrobe for Men 6: Jeans.

You’re looking for something loose (to work with the flow of your suit jacket), but not too loose (you won’t be wearing a hoodie and skater-boy trainers!). Think relaxed boot-cut. In terms of colour, avoid traditional stonewashed; look for something dark but faded and maybe a little worn (but nothing verging on a gaping hole). Low rise jeans are okay, if you’re snake-hipped, otherwise steer clear.

The Proper Wardrobe for Men 7: Flat-fronted Chinos.

A light, neutral colour: tan, khaki, sand. There’s relatively little that these hardwearing and versatile trousers won’t go with.

The Proper Wardrobe for Men 8: A casual sweater.

Crew neck or v-neck? Well, that depends on your physique. Larger-chested men, irrespective of whether their chest falls into the flabby ‘man boob’ or highly-developed pectoral muscle category, should avoid v-neck as they can create the unwanted effect of a cleavage. Colours should be dark (think black, charcoal, navy) and the fit should be neat without being too tight. Baggy sweaters should be avoided.

The Proper Wardrobe for Men 9: Polo shirts.

A few if these, if your budget can accommodate. Solid colours only (no stripes please, unless you want to look like a creepy, oversized schoolboy – this is the proper wardrobe for men, remember?). Whatever colours you prefer, but try to have at least one in black or navy.

The Proper Wardrobe for Men 10: Casual shoes.

The popular trainer/shoe hybrid offer an excellent way to ‘deformalise’ an outfit, but keep the colour to brown (and variations thereon) and avoid too much patterning. A pair of robust brown Oxford work equally well.

The Proper Wardrobe for Men 11: Sandals.

A very basic thong, preferably in brown leather. Obviously, no socks.

The Proper Wardrobe for Men 12: Shorts.

A longer short, but keep it above the knee. In terms of colour, you’re looking for khaki or olive (anything light and neutral, really). Combat-style shorts are fine, but avoid anything too bulky. Worn with your sandals and a polo shirt, this will create a summery look that is casual but noticeable.

Now that you have the proper wardrobe for men, you should never get caught out again. You’ll also find that working from this basis, you’ll be able to add garments not purely because you like them in their own right, but because you’ll be able to see how they’ll work with the other elements in your wardrobe.

Contrary to the notion that mass-produced off-rack suits usually cannot match in quality against individualized tailored suits, there are off-racks suits available in the market with the quality comparable to
tailored suit. Moreover, there also types of suits fashioned to fit summer seasons with its light material.

Men’s suits are also available based on the type of suit jackets, buttons used and on the category of formal wear and those can be used for casual wear.A few types of suit jackets are:

Single-breasted suits

These are the basic style of most suits. The front buttons on the suits are in a single straight row. There is a choice of two or three buttons for single breasted mens suits.
